Atmospheres (2023 Remaster)
Solo Guitar 1999

This music is a psychedelic fusion of finger style guitar and delay effects used to create an ambient space feel. I recorded with a Tascam tape machine. Inspiration came from walks in the old growth trees of Lincoln Park, Seattle. This version has been edited and remastered for the digital age.

REVIEW:

Antony DeGennaro's Atmospheres isn't really what is commonly known as atmospheric, but it still has a transcendental vibe. DeGennaro has a very refined approach on this recording. His music is for solo guitar, but he runs the guitar through effects processors or he sends the whole of the recording through a processor, creating a spacious and profound recording. In any case, his music is sort of a blend of Will Ackerman and Pink Floyd's David Gilmour, with a bit of Hendrix acoustic madness thrown in. All in all, this is a very good recording. It's a very enjoyable disc to listen to, and along with the rock connotations that come with any recording that prominently features guitar, it's also quite contemplative and meditative as well. Antony DeGennaro has the uncanny ability to fuse his great solo steel string guitar style with tasteful electronics. Antony DeGennaro has produced an excellent recording.
- Matt Borghi All Music

"Thick, gorgeous tracks, a world in each and space to exist. As if time and space could be auditory. Hyperreality. The borders are permeable: you're in a bathysphere deep underwater, then in another dimension--the strange unknown is accessible, the unseen and unheard are given voice. ***Space kicks off the album, a rapturous lullaby. Contact, inversely, is pensive, spiraling like DNA. Other swells before Ghost Town, full of hidden energy. Listen in the place between sleep and awake, or in a bath, for full advantage of healing tones. This album is the sonic equivalent of a mandala. The mood moves from source of origin and spiritual longing to post-evolution bliss. Ideal for activating mind and soul. Each track is lush and heady. Brilliant" - Kodiak

The albums in this catalog are such natural extensions of each other that they are like different sections of a map of the mind. Part dream-world, part outer space, water, and terra firma, rising out of expert oceans. Here is a musician with admirable instincts and the ability to incorporate gristle with beauty. Artisanal-like attention to detail. A pattern of cosmic elements (e.g. Interstellar Space and Universe) is a constant invigorating thread. This is music to capture gravity and transcend the world of microaggression. De Gennaro serves up his ethereal thoughts--no easy task. Powerful solo work that is curative, rousing, more calming than Klonopin. - Kodiak
